PREDISPOSITIONS

Scientific mind, the ability of abstract thinking, analytical skills, diligence, inquisitiveness, willingness and ability of continuous self–development – because of the fact that information technology is a continuously developing area of knowledge.

WHAT SUBJECT IS IMPORTANT TO PASS DURING A MATURITY EXAM?

A foreign, modern language and 2 subjects from the following: mathematics, computer science, physics (with astronomy), chemistry, Polish language.

CAREER

A job in the information technology sector is dependent upon his / her professional interests.

The graduate may work e.g. as: an administrator of networks and data systems, programmer, designer or tester of information systems - including web systems and applications intended for mobile devices.

The graduates usually have no problems with finding very attractive and highly paid positions connected with their professional qualifications.

Numerous graduates set up their own companies implementing interesting, innovative projects for the Polish as well as foreign entrepreneurs.

FIRST CYCLE DEGREE PROGRAMME

The studies last 7 semesters in the daily, full–time mode - S (on-site).

The studies are completed with obtaining a Bachelor degree (inżynier).

Among the basic educational contents, there are e.g.: mathematical analysis and linear algebra, probabilistic methods and statistics, discreet mathematics, computer-aided design.

Among the facultative educational contents there are e.g.:

• basics of programming,
• language and paradigms of programming,
• algorithms and data structures,
• operation systems,
• web technologies,
• computer graphics,
• artificial intelligence,
• databases,
• programming engineering,
• administration of complex information technology systems,
• embedded systems,
• designing, implementing and testing information technology systems,
• social and vocational issues connected with information technology.

The assessment granted to the department by the National Accreditation Committee as well as by the Accreditation Committee of Technical Universities guarantees a high level of educational quality.

The department is also under the accreditation of FEANI (European Federation of National Engineering Associations).
